SOCIETY OF ST.VINCENT DE PAUL
ST.MONICA-ST.PATRICK
WHO ARE WE?
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons founded in 1833 by Blessed Frederic Ozanam and his companions.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Under the patronage of St.Vincent de Paul, the Society derives its inspiration from St. Vincent's thinking and his work. In a spirit of justice and charity and by person to person involvement of its members, the Society seeks to help the poor and marginalized of our community as Jesus Christ would have us do it.
Through prayer, meditation on the scriptures and the teachings of the Church, Vincentians seek to bear witness to the love of Christ through their daily lives and in their relationships with those in need.
At the local level, The Society of St. Vincent De Paul/St.Monica-St.Patrick has a mission to fulfill the goals of the worldwide Society. We put into practice the social justice teachings of the Church in our community. Our services are available to all. We do not ask "do you live here?" or are you "Catholic?"...we only ask "what do you need?"
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are known as "Vincentians", and we welcome the participation of all St.Monica's and
St.Pat's parishioners, adult women and men, who share our desire to help those in need-via our home visit progam and/or in other ways. We ask that you be ready to extend help to anyone in true need, and to see the face of Christ in those we serve.
